NRA Spokeswoman Dana Loesch Dares Rep. Kathleen Rice: 'Come and Arrest Me'

Misfire: Democratic Rep Calls Dana Loesch a Threat to National Security

Rice was then also responding to Loesch, who had just appeared in an NRA video attacking "fake news" and allegations of mainstream media bias.

During an appearance on Fox News Friday, Loesch railed against Rice, saying the New York Democrat spoke more aggressively against the NRA than she does about violent gangs, like MS-13. "We can't ignore that", Rep. Kathleen Rice, a Democratic congresswoman from NY, wrote on Twitter.

Rice, who represents suburban Nassau County, was apparently responding to comments Loesch made about the death of Philando Castile, a black gun owner who was shot and killed by police in Minnesota a year ago during a traffic stop.

Rice's brand of rhetoric is what's taken for granted today, as you know if you live in a trendy neighborhood like mine and see breathtakingly vulgar anti-Trump and Pence stickers every time you go out for a cup of coffee. But NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch said the NRA didn't speak up on Castile's behalf because he was in possession of marijuana at the time of his death and, she said, that violates the law.

Loesch's response was the first substantive response from the gun-rights group regarding the shooting of Castile. The NRA was criticized when it stayed silent on the shooting, which had galvanized Black Lives Matter and anti-gun activists who termed the NRA racist over its silence.

"I am not a domestic threat!" she told fill-in host Mark Steyn.

She also replied to Rice's tweet.

"When can I expect to be arrested?"

Coleman Lamb, a spokesman for Rice, said in a statement that the NRA's message has veered away from protecting Second Amendment rights and is instead stoking unrest. "That's extremely troubling to Rep. Rice, as it should be to all law-abiding gun-owners and NRA members". According to her next tweet five minutes later, that makes the NRA a "domestic security threat". "Stop lying", Mrs. Loesch said while discussing the incident on Twitter.

Kathleen Rice, a Democrat representing Long Island, has been doing battle with an NRA spokeswoman on Twitter over the organization's blatant hypocrisy over the group's silence on the Philando Castille case.
